The Lincoln Tower of Books

Abraham Lincoln has been an inspiration since his untimely death in 1865, with politicians invoking him and his deeds for comparison, and artists using him as a source of inspiration as well. In the time since Lincoln, about 15,000 books have been written about him, and at Ford’s Theatre Center for Education and Leadership, a tower has been constructed using about 7,000 of those books. The three-story tower is part of a 60 million-dollar exhibit featuring hundreds of Lincoln artifacts and objects.
