Inside a Celebrity Gifting Suite

Secret Room Events presented the latest incarnation of their renowned celebrity gifting suites, this time in honor of the 2014 71st Annual Golden Globes, at the chic, luxurious SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 10. This exclusive event, open only to celebrities and media, serves as both a charitable event and an opportunity to introduce luxury and fashion products and companies to those always in search of the latest and greatest. Gift offerings included a vacation to Costa Rica, skincare, makeup and hair care items, baby and pet products, clothing, jewelry, and more. Golden Globe nominee Bruce Dern was among the stars attending the glittery event.

Among the skincare offerings were products from Joey New York. Apparently coconut water isn’t just good for drinking – it’s now being offered as a prominent ingredient in Joey New York’s products. DNK Skincare of Beverly Hills touted their Ultra Benefits cream and Replenishing SPF lotion. Fairiche was there to promote their impressive skin-brightening products that reduce hyperpigmentation. Also on hand was Astara, famed for their face masks. They gifted attendees with samples of several of these masks, including Blue Flame Purifying Mask, the Nourishing Vitamin Mask, the Green Papaya Nutrient Mask, and Golden Flame Hydration Mask. I tried the latter two and was very happy with the results.

The company Kashmir, who makes sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners that help damaged and colored hair, was on hand with their innovative products. I was later able to try their Keratin Enriched Mask for the hair, and was impressed with the resultant softness.

Two chocolate companies were on hand. Offenbacher gave away small boxes of their amazing gourmet fudge, made with just six simple, pure ingredients: sugar, cocoa, cream, butter, vanilla, and walnuts. That box quickly became a memory. Niagara Honeymoon Sweets, based in Niagara Falls, handed out their chocolates, the most original being the chocolate medallions imprinted with the famous falls. As far as taste goes, the real standouts from Niagara Honeymoon Sweets are the Dark Chocolate Cherry Almond Biscotti and the Orange Flavored Chocolate with Cranberries and Walnuts.

The other standouts? Cate McNabb cosmetics handed out their highly-pigmented eye shadows, blushes, and lipsticks, Glop and Glam gave away their natural organic hair products aimed at kids, all of which smell delicious and anything but artificial, and Stephanie Henry gave away copies of her moving memoir, If Only I Could Sleep.

The best part of all was that the funds that were raised for the event went PETA, the animal-rights organization dedicated to helping protect animals from cruelty.
